I received two calls from my friend J last Thursday afternoon.  

I write him a message on Thursday and today he replies...

  I'm getting an operation on Monday for my leg-- I'll be here for a couple of    months.

  Funny how things work out when they don't.

  In any case, I am always grateful to meet a new friend. =D

It's never happened before that an injury got in the way of a potential romance.  Having said that, I do believe there is a reason why things don't work out, especially when they so obviously should.  
I don't know what other people call it, but for me, it is that foolhardy thing called FATE. (Yum!)
