the '0' inspiration

On the way to the cinema to see Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds (which was AWESOME btw!!!), as my bud Jess fought his way through the mayhem of holiday traffic, I was distractedly indulging on Facebook (thanks to SMART Bro!!!).  I see coke zero's advert for New Year's Resolution 2010.  I couldn't resist the urge to input what I strive to do better next year.

But if I may digress...

A fortnight prior to this leonine's birthday, a leg injury reclaimed my running spirit.
A week after the bastardising birthday finale, I quit drinking.
A few months ago, I stopped smoking.
A month ago, I  decided that if I wanted to keep my smoking inclination at bay, I really needed to take a proactive stance towards a healthier lifestyle.
My firm resolve is to maintain the non-smoking, social drinking and runner persona that I have been in the last decade or so.

And as I usher in 2010, Christmas came and saw me through the pressure cooker.  That said, I am running my first 5K marathon tomorrow morning.  I don't know how far this resolution will take me, but I'm not one to care about the technicalities.  What I do care about is making it stick.

So as I fight the fag and floozy the flab, I welcome 2010, the first of ten decades already over and the remaining ones welled with so much promise.  Time flies and only the best as I go onwards and upwards!

Cheerios.
